No amount of visits from technicians, threats to leave or anything seem to get the management to understand the importance of wi-fi for business travellers. Having resorted to, early on a Sunday morning, hooking up to wi-fi in the hotel's coffee shop another kind of hooking up opportunity presented itself, a drunk local prostitute who used her smart phone to translate messages, ending in the cryptic "sex? The reek of vodka was splendid at 7am. There is a very noisy karaoke bar and shisha joint in the same hotel so expect late night antics and lots of traffic in the packed car park.
The staff are incredibly charming and largely efficient and obliging. The hotel is conveniently situated in the old part of the city, and is comfortably furnished, although in my room the phone, a bedside and desk light didn't work, Oh, and the air conditioning control panel was on the fritz.
